The General Scope of Social Work Practice for Aotearoa New Zealand is now live! You can find it, and the supporting narrative which provides the context for the Scope of Practice on the Social Worker Registration Board (SWRB) website.
The call to develop a Scope of Practice specific for social work in Aotearoa New Zealand led to the establishment of a sector-led working group to develop the Scope of Practice. A short consultation feedback report has been written to answer (through some Questions and Answers) the main questions arising from feedback. This document is also on the website link above.
The SWRB wishes to thank everyone who contributed to the hui in the early part of last year – in person, via zoom and in written feedback following lock down, and by zoom hui and written feedback in September and October when the draft Scope of Practice was circulated to the sector for feedback.
